In Year Admissions

  1. Applications for in year admission may be submitted at any time during the school year. 
  2. The school is part of the LA’s in-year co-ordination scheme.  Any person wishing to apply for a place at the school in-year will need to contact the LA for an application form and a supplementary information form if required.  Further details in respect of in-year applications are available from the school office or from the school website.
  3. The LA will liaise with the school on receipt of any in-year application so that it may be processed in accordance with the school’s admission arrangements.

Dorset Council are consulting on the admissions arrangements for the academic year 2025 to 2026. The consultation will run from Wednesday 15 November 2023 to Tuesday 9 January 2024. To find out more, click here. 

 

 

Transition to secondary school

Many of our children choose to move to The Gryphon School when they leave us at the end of Year 6 and we are one of their recognised feeder schools. Currently, The Gryphon's over-subscription criteria is as follows: 

 

4. Children living within the school’s catchment area who will have a sibling**(s) attending the school at the time of admission.
5. Children living within the school’s catchment area.

6. Children living outside the school's catchment with a sibling attending at the time of admission.

7. Children living outside the school’s catchment area and who were attending one of the preferred school’s recognised maintained feeder schools during the previous year.
