Let your light shine

Year 4

This week is the last week of home learning that will be set this term as it is also the last week of the summer term.  Thank you so much for all that you have done to support your child with their home learning throughout this difficult time. The children have impressed us so much with their enthusiasm and commitment to their learning, and we know that it has not always been easy for everyone.

Please remember that we are here to help and support you in any way that we can, so please get in touch if you have any questions. We would love to see some examples of the children's work this week, so pop us an email of anything that they are really proud of.

We hope that you have a fantastic summer and look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

How To Draw An Island

le 15 juillet 2020

Bonjour la classe!

For French we are going to find out about a very famous event that took place yesterday in France.  Le 14 juillet-Fête Nationale, July 14th – National Holiday in France is a bank holiday and normally a day of national celebration with parades, fly pasts, parties and lots of gatherings for special meals and fireworks.  This year it will be very different as the crowds are not allowed to gather and watch all the events.  But it will be broadcast on the television.  So there are 3 video clips, a powerpoint, a drawing activity to do and a quiz. The video clips are in the Video Centre on the school website. Go to FRENCH: le 14 juillet - la Fete Nationale en France: watch the 2020 Parade du 14 juillet, singing  La Marseillaise, the French national anthem; 2019 Fireworks, Eiffel Tower, Paris and why not try to Draw the Eiffel Tower, add a few fireworks.

Bon courage,

Miss Ferguson

Bonjour la classe,

Ça va? How are you?

I hope you are keeping your French up.  Last time, I hope you had a chance to find out about Le Tour de France by looking at a powerpoint, watching the clip (GUIDE:Le Tour de France) in the *VIDEO CENTRE on the school website and designing a “maillot”, a cycle shirt.  This time there is a powerpoint which has lots of pictures and facts about this famous bike race.  Your activity is to use your cognate (word spelt the same and same meaning as the English) and near cognate (word shows similarities to words with similar or same meaning as the English) to do a wordsearch.  There is also a clip of the Highlights from stage 19 of the 2019 Tour de France.  So much can happen in a bike race.

Remember, for space learning I have uploaded some French space clips to the *VIDEO CENTRE: SamSam le superhero de l’Espace/ Le système solaire présenté par les CE2 - CM1(Y4 & Y5 children)/ Paxi – Le système solaire/ Visitez la Station spatiale internationale en deux minutes

*Go to HOME LEARNING, go right down to the bottom and select Video Centre and find the Year 3 & Year 4 video clips.
