Home Learning - w/c 13.07.20

This week is the last week of home learning that will be set this term as it is also the last week of the summer term.  Tasks this week focus on consolidation of skills and transition to the next year group, whilst also having some fun!  We hope the children enjoy the tasks that we have set but as always, if you have any questions or queries related to the learning please do not hesitate to get in touch via the year group email address.  Please also remember to pop us an email to share some examples of home learning or to tell us what you have been up to.

Finally, we would like to thank all of you for all your support and hard work with home learning over the last few months – we appreciate that this is not something that many of you ever expected to do but you have done a great job in taking on the role of teacher at home and allowing your child to gain a positive experience from this.  Thank you!

Miss Baker J

Both Owl Class and Fox Class children will now be set the same tasks.

Both Owl Class and Fox Class children will be set the same tasks.

JK Rowling's new book!  Each day a new chapter (or 2 or 3!) will be published here for free.

Each chapter is short with some great vocabulary used - can you magpie any for your writing?

Bonjour la classe!

For French we are going to find out about a very famous event that took place yesterday in France.  Le 14 juillet-Fête Nationale, July 14th – National Holiday in France is a bank holiday and normally a day of national celebration with parades, fly pasts, parties and lots of gatherings for special meals and fireworks.  This year it will be very different as the crowds are not allowed to gather and watch all the events.  But it will be broadcast on the television.  So there are 3 video clips, a powerpoint, a drawing activity to do and a quiz. The video clips are in the *Video Centre on the school website. Go to FRENCH: le 14 juillet - Bastille Day: watch the 2020 Parade du 14 juillet, singing  La Marseillaise, the French national anthem; 2019 Fireworks, Eiffel Tower, Paris and why not try to Draw the Eiffel Tower, add a few fireworks.

Bon courage,

Miss Ferguson

*Go to HOME LEARNING, go right down to the bottom and select Video Centre and find the FRENCH: le 14 juillet - Bastille Day.

Bonjour la classe,

Ça va? How are you?

I hope you enjoyed your first taster of Le Tour de France learning.  Remember this world famous cycle race should have started last Saturday in Nice but because of the Coronavirus pandemic it has been postponed until samedi le 29 août.  The focus of this learning is Le Tour de France and cognate and near cognate learning.  You have a powerpoint, Kim’s Game and a wordsearch activity.

To remind you, there are Tour video clips in the Video Centre: Guide to le Tour de France and also a clip of the Highlights from stage 19 of the 2019 Tour de France.  So much can happen in a bike race.

 Bon courage,                   Madame Ferguson

PS Don’t forget the French clips for you in the Video Centre.  Go to Chidren, select Video Centre and find the FRENCH: Y5 Y6 clips.

Ideas for some fun art:

Don't forget to email us pictures of the drawings you create so we share them with everybody else.
