Home Learning - w/c 13.07.20

So you have made it to the final week of home learning! A huge well done and thank you for all your hard work.  This week you can choose to complete activities from the celebrations theme or there is an additional unit based on 'Transition' which has some nice ideas for rounding off the school year.  Please feel free to pick and choose what you feel is most appropriate.  Obviously, the more activities that completed the better, but we don’t want you to feel pressured at home to get these completed if time or work constraints don’t allow for it one week. Hopefully, the topic tasks that have been set are fairly independent activities so that most children should be able to work on them without additional adult support.

Please continue to upload work weekly to Tapestry by Friday-it is much better if all one weeks home learning is uploaded in one block-many thanks for your help on this.

Bonjour la classe!

For French we are going to find out about a very famous event that takes place tomorrow in France.  Le 14 juillet-Fête Nationale, July 14th – National Holiday in France is a bank holiday and normally a day of national celebration with parades, fly pasts, parties and lots of gatherings for special meals and fireworks.  This year it will be very different as the crowds are not allowed to gather and watch all the events.  But it will be broadcast on the television.  So there are 3 video clips, a powerpoint and a drawing activity to do. The video clips are in the Video Centre on the school website. Go to FRENCH: le 14 juillet – Bastille Day: watch the 2020 Parade du 14 juillet, singing La Marseillaise, the French national anthem; 2019 Fireworks, Eiffel Tower, Paris and why not try to Draw the Eiffel Tower, add a few fireworks.

If you have had a birthday Joyeux Anniversaire à toi.  Bonnes vacances - have a great summer holidays.  I look forward to seeing you in September when you will be Year 1s.

Bon courage,  Miss Ferguson

PS Don’t forget the French clips for you in the Video Resource Centre.  Go to Chidren, select Video Resource Centre and find the FRENCH: le 14 juillet – Bastille Day and FRENCH: R/Y1/Y2 video clips.

For French we are going to find out about a very famous cycle race that should have started last Saturday.  This race is Le Tour de France.  There is a video clip, a powerpoint and a colouring activity to do.  You can practise your colour learning with a colour song as you create your own cycling shirt. The video clip – “Guide to Le Tour de France” is in the Video Centre on the school website and it will help you find out all about this exciting bike race. Have fun with your learning.

Bon courage,

Bonjour la classe,

Ça va? How are you?

I hope you are keeping your French up.  This time we are continuing our learning about the beach.  Last time you saw a powerpoint that showed you pictures of beaches in France, what you would need to go rockpooling and what you would find in a rockpool.  You watched the Neo et Swan “pêche à la mer” and found out what they found in the rockpools of Corsica (Corse).  You may have played Kim’s Game and spotted the missing creature.  But this time consider what other activities you might you do at the beach.  Watch the video clip: Les activités à la mer when a class visits a beach in Brittany, France.

Your activity is a speaking activity to express an opinion, tell me what you like (J’aime) and what you don’t like (Je n’aime pas) to do at the beach. Enjoy this learning.

Bon courage,                  Madame Ferguson

Bonjour la classe,

Ça va? How are you?

I hope you are keeping your French up.  Enjoy this learning.  This time we are continuing our learning about the beach.  The powerpoint has lots of new pictures and sounds to help you say new words.  Click on the sound clip for each one.  Practise the song from last time.  It helps you to learn the key words, “la pelle, le seau, and le bateau”.  Remember the repeated sound “eau” by itself means water!

Next watch the Titounis video and listen out for your new learning.  Wave when you hear the new words.

This week there is a matching activity.  Try to put the correct number beside each picture and say or write the word.

Watch the *Peppa Pig video when Peppa visits "La Plage" with "sa famille". Start the video clip at 26 minutes. Wave every time you hear your French beach words.  You will know more this time.

Bon courage,                  Madame Ferguson

PS *Don’t forget all the French clips for you in the Video Centre.  Go to HOME LEARNING, go right down to the bottom and select Video Centre and find the Year R/Y1/Y2 video clips.
