School Vision
Let your light shine
A very warm welcome to
Thank you for your interest in our school. We hope that you will find our website both interesting and informative, as well as giving a taste for what is important to us at our school.
Here at Trent, our vision, 'to let your light shine' means that our priority is for each child to flourish: to believe in themselves, to understand the impact that they can have on each other, and to be happy and healthy. We believe that is it vital that each child understands how special, unique, and valued they are and is able to make a positive contribution to our school and the wider community. Our curriculum is designed to provide all children with the best possible opportunities to experience success, and to become curious individuals who care for each other and our world.

Fox Class had an intriguing trip to The Tutankhamun Exhibition in Dorchester as part of their Ancient Egypt history unit this half term. The children enjoyed finding out about Tutankhamun and the discovery of his tomb. They also put themselves into Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon's shoes by exploring a replica antechamber and burial chamber for Tutankhamun. We were even lucky enough to come up close to a real, golden figure of Tutankhamun that is over 2,000 years old! The children behaved wonderfully and let their lights shine through engaged listening, contributions and curious questions! #LetYourLightShine
We had a fantastic visit from Bugfest on Thursday as Nick and Leighton taught us more about the impact of minibeasts on the world. The whole school loved finding out about how we rely so much on minibeasts before Y6 stayed for an additional mind-blowing session to find out more about how the minibeasts have changed and adapted over time to suit their environment, fitting in wonderfully with their science learning this term. #LetYourLightShine
Earlier in the week, Owl Class planted a new hedge around part of our forest school area. In inclement weather conditions, they worked brilliantly in teams to prepare the ground, plant and guard their new plants. We look forward to seeing the plants thrive over the coming years. Thanks to TCV - The Conservation Volunteers for helping us in providing the trees!! #LetYourLightShine
We're really proud of our Y6 dodgeball team who competed in the cluster tournament this evening. Playing against all of the other local schools, they came a respectable fourth and grew in confidence greatly across the event. It was also very positive to see how they picked themselves up after a tricky patch mid-way through the event to end on a high! #LetYourLightShine
