At Trent Young's, we believe passionately that every child has the potential to flourish and shine. We are fully committed to ensuring that all the children in our school have access to a high quality, broad and balanced, and a fully inclusive academic and social curriculum where they can be supported to set and reach their aspirational goals. We have high expectations for all of our children and staff work together to enable a curriculum which allows everybody to achieve and for their lights to shine.
Miss Baker is our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, (SENDCo) and works with the staff to support, advise, train and co-ordinate the progress of children with SEND. She also liaises with relevant outside agencies and specialist services, and works closely with parents to develop collaborative working partnerships which enable us to achieve the very best possible short and long term outcomes for all of our children and their families.
We value and respect positive input from parents and carers and welcome your involvement in all aspects of your child’s education and school life. If you have questions regrading your child's learning or well-being, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher or Miss Baker: sendco@trentyoungs.dsat.org.uk

At Trent Young’s CE School we work hard to ensure that every member of our school community – children, parents, staff, governors and visitors – feel safe and included. We are an inclusive school and every child, whatever their individual abilities or needs, is equally valued and welcome here. We expect each member of our community, staff, children, parents and visitors, to understand and support our inclusive ethos. We aim to create a happy, safe and secure environment, where members of our school community are healthy, enjoy learning, achieve their potential, respect and value each other and themselves.
As an educationally inclusive school the teaching and learning, achievements, attitudes and well-being of every young person matters. We take into account children’s varied life experiences and needs, providing equal opportunities for all pupils, whatever their age, disability, race, religion or belief, gender / gender identity or socio-economic background, to ensure that every child really does matter.
We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which success is celebrated and all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and able to participate fully in school life. We will tackle discrimination by the positive promotion of equality and the creation of an environment which champions respect for all.
