 Flourishing as a DSAT school

DSAT's vision is for the growth of thriving Christian learning communities, providing everyone with the opportunity to achieve more than they ever thought possible.  Christian service is at the heart of all we do, as we help young people to develop excitement in learning and to live life to the full.  We value everyone equally and demonstrate this through our words, actions, community life and the quality of the opportunities we provide.

‘I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.’   Philippians 4:13

Belonging to the DSAT family enables us to flourish as a church school. Through collaboration with others, we create a nurturing environment in which our children are able to grow spiritually, personally and academically enabling us to live well as a connected community. We strive to create a sense of belonging and support for every member of our school: the well-being and mental health of children, staff, parents and governors is a high priority.

What is Spirituality?

Spirituality will mean different things to different people and encompasses all of us as human beings.  At Trent Young’s CE School, spirituality is defined as developing our unique selves, our relationships with others, and connecting to something that is bigger than ourselves: the extraordinary around us, all of which are done through love.

See our Spirituality Policy for more details.

Spirituality and Collective Worship

Collective worship plays an important role in developing spirituality by fostering a sense of community, shared values, and reflection. Through shared experiences, prayers, and opportunities for reflection, children and adults have a chance to connect with something greater than themselves. In collective worship, 'big questions' encourage children to think beyond themselves and make connections with the wider world.   Empathy, compassion, a sense of community, and belonging together with chances to express gratitude and hope, all support spiritual growth.
