Trent Young'sCE School
Trent Young's School is part of the Diocesan on Salisbury Academies Trust (DSAT). This means that the ultimate strategic direction and management of the school will be provided by DSAT. However DSAT has delegated many of its powers to a Local Governing Body made up of parents, community and church members, as well as staff who will work with the Headteacher on the day to day management of the school.
Governors are a voluntary body of people who guide and support the strategic direction of the school. They are members of the school team and their contribution to the running of the school is highly valued.
The governing body consists of:
- 1 Parent Governor
- 5 Foundation Governors
- 1 Staff Governor
- 1 Headteacher
The role of the governing body is a strategic one, it's key functions are to
- Help set the aims and objectives for the school;
- Agree and adopt the policies for achieving those aims and objectives;
- Help set the targets for achieving those aims and objectives;
- Monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making towards the achievements of its aims and objectives;
- Be a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher.
