Year 5/6 rounders
After our success at the recent Dodgeball tournament it was the turn of the rounders team to take to the field.
Last year saw us return with the plate final trophy, could this be repeated, or bettered this year?
The first game saw a comprehensive win over Yetminster, followed by a narrow defeat by Sherborne Abbey. Back to winning ways in the third game with another comprehensive win over Buckland Newton. With 2 games to go we were still in the running for the number one spot.
Our fifth game saw us lose by 1/2 rounder on the last throw of the game to Thornford. Finally, it we faced a very strong Sherborne Primary team to whom we lost.
So with 2 wins and 3 loses we came away with the trophy we had just taken back........ the plate final winners!!!!
Thank you for all your support during the tournament and a huge well done to those who took part and conducted yourselves very well over a long hot afternoon.
During the afternoon the coaches and staff were on the lookout for any amazing play from the children. One such shot caught the attention of everyone watching - Tom hit the ball far enough that he could have run around the pitch several times - he scooped the award!!
