Tag Rugby Tournament
On Friday 13th October, a year 6 tag rugby team competed in the Sherborne Area tournament. We were thrown straight into action against Yetminster where, once we got in the game, we won 4-2. We then faced the eventual winners (Bishop’s Caundle) where we unfortunately lost 8-4. This was followed by an exciting, end-to-end match against Sherborne Primary. Luckily, this game ended 7-6 to Trent, putting us through to the semi-finals. Here, we were drawn against Abbey School, and in another very close game, we lost 9-7. However, this did put us through to the 3rd/4th playoff against Bradford Abbas. They were a very well-practised team who often turned over the ball through defending well. In the dying seconds of the game, Bradford Abbas pushed through a final try to leave the score at 6-5. The children represented the school brilliantly and behaved in a very sporting manner.
